I have an older version of this scale. Some 15 years older. Instead of the physical buttons it has a ‘touch’ area. Which doesn’t work well with wet hands. But, that scale was 100% accurate and had fast response times. (I have calibration weights – So I can test accuracy).
These scales are always off by a few grams at 100g test weight and some 10g at 500g test weight. That’s not a huge amount… But with the older scales I could weight spices and other small quantities, not with these.
The next issue is that they are a little unpredictable. If I put a bowl on them it gives me the weight. take the bowl off and put it on again it gives me a different weight… Again just by a few grams.
My biggest problem is when pouring things like grain or flour into them. There is a slight lag before they record that I am adding stuff and I have to stop pouring early to let them catch up.

Disappointed with these scales.
I got them as I thought they’d be an improvement on a very cheap pair I also bought of amazon (little silver ones for under a tenner). However, though a little more accurate, they are considerably slower and appear to get “stuck” sometimes.
When measuring out powders it takes 1 or two seconds for the scale to react every time you add anything. This means that toward the end when you’re trying to get a precise measure it takes a long time as you have to wait a couple of seconds for every portion you add or remove to register – easy to over and undershoot the amount.
I have experienced the weight sticking at a level a couple of times, it comes unstuck if you press down on the scale for a second or two so you need to be continually fiddling with the scale to ensure you are getting the correct weight.
The zeroing button also takes a couple of attempts sometimes to actually set to zero.
On the plus side it does weight larger amounts, has a larger surface and is more accurate with heavier weights – so it has it’s uses but for my powdered food weighing (Huel), the cheaper scales are faster and more reliable

Easy to clean, but slow to respond, but tolerable. However, I do not like the display which I find it difficult to read – the red is not the best colour for me but the worst of all is its poor viewing angle. You have to stand right on top of the scale to read the weight. Its optimal viewing scale is SOOOOOO narrow! ” Looking a display outside the optimal viewing angle can result in a darker image, lower quality image, or even the inability to see the image at all” This scale has such a narrow viewing angle, you have to look straight down. If you want to use this scale to weigh a parcel, then this is not the scale for you. (You “can” use it, buy placing an small object first which does not obstruct the display, zero the scale, then place your parcel on top of the first object, so that you can see the display, but it is really tedious)

I’ve owned a number of Salter scales over the years and normally they are great. But this set is awful. You cannot read the display. The red numbers on the black background cannot be read at an angle, you can still see the outline of the unlit numbers, plus because a large bowl over shadows the display, the only way of seeing it is at an angle. It’s just about readable top down, with a tiny bowl on it – but that’s not how most people cook.

Wonderful product. The value for price on this item cannot be overestimated! New version can go up to 10kg which is amazing considering a lot of commercial scalea go only up to 5kg. Only downside is that if your measuring bowl is massive then it will obscure the display. Had the previous model which developed problems with on/off/tare button (rust probably due to frequent cleaning in abundance of water, for which I can’t fault it) so I took it to work (I’m a professional chef) as it is still workable. I hope that the new model will serve me long years to come.
